The start of Sea Otter Awareness Week brings about excitement regarding what is new in the world of sea otters.  Will it bring people together to discuss advancements in research; a conservation initiative or an educational effort? 

Like all trash, energy bar wrappers can cause problems for sea otters in the ocean. Start a collection where you are, send them to us, we’ll recycle them & benefit sea otters at the same time!

The kids put together this video to tell the school about the recycling program and SOFT after Diane Tomecek, President & CEO of SOFT, presented there in April, 2014.

At 25, Homer was believed to be the last sea otter survivor of the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill. She lived at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium for 24 years, delighting visitors daily as she swam in the sea otter pool.
